Xiao-pin, an orphan since young, wanders and begs with her blind father. After her father's death in a car accident, Xiao-pin is taken in by Old Liu, the owner of a tailor shop. Old Liu dotes on Xiao-pin, but when she is twelve years old, he rapes her. At the age of nineteen, Xiao-pin falls in love with Dr. Kwok in the small town. When Old Liu finds out, he becomes jealous.
