Ray Goossens was a Belgian animator, director, and comics artist, renowned for his significant contributions to European animation. In 1940, he co-founded the AFIM animation studios with Henri Winkeler and Edmond Roex, producing short animated films such as Smidje Smee. Post-World War II, Goossens ventured into comics, working with the weekly youth magazine Kleine Zondagsvriend.
