Kōichi Hata (May 10, 1886 – October 6, 1957) was a Japanese novelist, playwright, and lyricist. He wrote several stories for Shochiku Studios. He was born in Horikawa-cho, Hiroshima City, in the family of a lacquer wholesaler. He died in Hiroshima Red Cross Hospital in 1957 due to stomach cancer. He was seventy-two.
