Emel Sayın (born 20 November 1945) is a Turkish singer and actress. She was born in Şarkışla district of Sivas Province on 20 November 1945, to a father who immigrated from Skopje, and a mother from Mardin. Her parents moved frequently and she had to attend primary and secondary schools in various cities such as Kayseri, Konya and Edirne. Finally she graduated from Teachers College of Çapa in Istanbul.
