She was born & grew up in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Her parents are Ed & Jo-Anne Guerard. She has one older sibling Tammy. She started modeling in Ottawa and then moved to Toronto to pursue her career and soon got into acting. She met actor Anthony Michael Hall on a movie set in August 1999 and moved in with him in Los Angeles in August 2001 to the summer of 2004. They have remained close ever since. There has been talk recently of a possible reconciliation as they have been spending time together recently.
