Andre Jackson was born the first of two children in the small Arkansas Delta town of Forrest City. His father is of African American and Native American (Lakota Sioux) descent and his mother is of African American and Irish descent. He and his sister Nikky spent much of their childhood in Forrest City being raised by their paternal grandmother.
