George Raymond Richard Martin (born George Raymond Martin; September 20, 1948), also known as G.R.R.M., is an American author, television writer, and television producer. He is best known as the author of the series of epic fantasy novels A Song of Ice and Fire, which was adapted into the Primetime Emmy Award-winning television series Game of Thrones (2011–2019) and its prequel series House of the Dragon (2022–present).
