Patrick Schulmann, born January 2, 1949 in Paris 20e, and died March 19, 2002 in Chesnay in Yvelines, is a French director, screenwriter, composer of original music, director of photography, actor, reporter. Abandoned by his father when he was only 3 years old, he was raised in the 19th arrondissement of Paris by his mother and his aunt, both survivors of the Auschwitz-Birkenau camp. He was expelled from six middle and high schools but still managed to obtain his baccalaureate.
