Octavian was born in Vancouver, British Columbia in September 2003. His father is Canadian and his mother is American. He holds dual Canadian and American citizenship. Octavian began his love for film at an early age. His first passion was movie soundtracks. He was inspired by John Williams and enjoyed playing anything from Star Wars to Harry Potter. He discovered film when his father won a FLIP Camera at a work event. He wrote and directed his first movie at age 8 called "Kids vs Alians".
