He was born in the village of Khattab, Dakahlia Governorate. He obtained a Bachelor of Media from Cairo University in 1986, followed by a Bachelor of Acting and Directing from the Higher Institute of Theatrical Arts in 1991, and a Postgraduate Diploma from the Drama Direction Department in 1993, in addition to his MA and PhD degrees. He participated in many television, cinematic and theatrical dramas, and one of his most prominent works is the movie Hammam in Amsterdam. He acted in the series The Last King of Upper Egypt (2010), Qabeel (2019) and The End (2020).
