Horikawa Tonko was a Japanese TV drama director, producer, and movie director from Nakanojo Town, Agatsuma District, Gunma Prefecture. His wife is screenwriter Takagi Rin. He studied at the University of Tokyo, Faculty of Letters. In 1958, he won the Ginkgo Namiki Award for his novel "Suna no Toei". He joined TBS after graduating from university. His representative work as a producer is "Kishibe no Album". In 1984, he won the Newcomer Award for Art Award.
