She was born in Sydney, Australia to a Singapore-Chinese mother and Japanese father. She trained in ballet, jazz, and contemporary from a young age, eventually turning to musical theatre and then screen acting. Kimie Tsukakoshi made her main stage debut in The Dead Devils of Cockle Creek at La Boite Theatre Company in early 2018. She has had many other onstage credits.
