Christy Cheung Wing-Yin, was born in Hong Kong to a family of filmmakers. In 1998, she participated in Andrew Lau's 'Young and Dangerous: The Prequel'. In 1999, at the age of 14, she auditioned for 'Spacked Out' at Milky Way Image through a friend's introduction and was eventually chosen by director Lawrence Ah-Mon to play the role of 'Sissy'. Assistant Director Andy Tse (Four Tse Liu-Shut) was most impressed with her performance, feeling that she was the most energetic of the four main actors and completely brought 'Sissy' to life without a script.
