Vijay Rekha known by her stage name Mounika is a television and film actress who appeared in South Indian films. She is the third wife of director Balu Mahendra. Mounika and Balu Mahendra shared a relationship that goes beyond professional limits. They were living together for a long period of time and Balu Mahendra himself has confirmed his relationship with Mounika in many of his interviews and also in his blog.They married in 1998 but went public about their marriage only in 2004.Mounika was introduced by Balu Mahendra in the film Un Kannil Neer Vazhindal that released in 1985.
